About
I am currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at Giessen University (Germany) working in history and cultural studies. My current projects explore urban history in Poland and Ukraine; representations of the Polish-German past in film and television; and relations between power, memory and censorship. My PhD from the University of Glasgow explored ordinary Poles' life stories written under communism, focusing on experiences of voluntary and forced migration. I have worked as a translator, focusing on theatre studies, with the Grotowski Institute in Wroclaw, the Centre For Performance Research, Aberystwyth, and with the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN).
